Dave I went to Danebridge fisheries in Wincle, where the upper reaches of the river Dane run by. An excellent fishery, really natural and a beautiful place. It was well worth the £ 10.00 fee for five hours and two fish (£ 7.00/no fish) just to enjoy the scenery. I was soon back into the swing of things and caught two trout to 3lb 3oz and dropped a couple off. The successful method was a number 7 weight forward floating line, 10ft, 6lb leader, and a black and green, gold-head Fritz retrieved intermittently slow and jerky at about half depth. Wow, I’m beginning to sound like an expert already – I wish! |
