The cooler weather has been kind to the tidal Tynebringing a welcome spate to freshen up the estuary.

Added to this the Environment Agency sanctioned a Kielder releaseafter fish were dying. Hopefully salmon and sea-trout will now beable to survive provided we don’t get a long hot spell in the comingmonths.

All local rivers had water this week and fish were running withTyne, Wear Coquet, Border Esk, Till and Tees all getting pulses offish.

The river Till has a good stock of fish with sea-trout and grilsepresent. It had a rise of three feet and fish were seen movingupstream with a few caught on the resting flats.

Anglers are having some fishing at present on the Ford and EtalEstate waters as well as the Tiptoe Farm stretch.

Tyneside Anglers Syndicate’s Till stretch also re-opened thisweek.

Wear anglers report seeing fish running over the weirs on theriver and sport should be good when levels settle. Night sea-troutingshould also start.

Coquet anglers are also likely to get some good sport with salmonand sea-trout in the Tidal stretch and also well above WarkworthDam.

Sea-trout were caught by Colin Rosemorgan at the Black Bridge to5lb.

Fish have also been seen in numbers in the Felton area.

Tyne anglers should find sport in the main river and both Northand South Tyne too. Fish have been moving into these tributaries innumbers recently.
