I don’t know about you but if my feet are cold I’m not a happyangler and I certainly don’t fish well!
To solve this ‘icy’ problem a few years ago I invested in a pairof Skeetex Thermal Boots to help me on those long and short wintersessions.
They consist of a moonboot style hardwearing rubber outer boot andthen the inner fleece lining fits snugly inside to keep your feetwarm. You find that the inners soon mould to the shape and size ofyour feet even if the outer boot shape makes it look as though you’vegot each boot on the wrong foot!
One thing that I have found with the liners is that they do splitafter a season’s heavy use. However you can buy replacement liners, which solve that particular problem.
Walking in the boots isn’t the easiest thing in the world. They dohave a good under-sole grip but you still have to tread carefully asthey are quite bulky. However their ‘bulkiness’ can be an advantageas without the liners you can easily jump into them during the middleof the night when your buzzer screams!
One other tip is to dry the liners separately after each use.Otherwise the sweat that you have generated could lead to cold feetnext time you wear them.
So there you have it – I’ve had my boots for well over 10 yearsand they still look and do the business. The only thing I’ve had toreplace is the linings but other than that they have kept me warmthrough many a cold winter.
