Cagefeeder with liquidised bread

The cagefeeder is good for distributing groundbait and other cereal baits, or particle baits when each end is plugged with groundbait.

But it is especially good for feeding a river swim with mashed or liquidised bread and comes into its own on big rivers (when swims cannot be easily recognised) where a trail of bread crumbs, in mash or liquidised form, is required to lay down a feed trail that extends for some distance downstream.

Cagefeeders come in metal and plastic form in various sizes.

To assemble

  1. Slide a running legerbead onto the main line. The legerbead has a link fitted which can be covered with a sleeve of silicon.
  2. Slide on a large rubber bead to protect the knot on the swivel and to provide some ‘stand-off’ for the feeder.
  3. Tie a small swivel onto the main line
  4. Tie your hooklink to the opposite end of the swivel. The swivel helps to prevent line twist and also acts as a non-slip leger-stop.
  5. Pull the large rubber bead down to cover the top eye of the swivel.
  6. Clip a cagefeeder to the link.
