IT IS THE trend with carp anglers, and increasingly with barbel anglers who use boilies, to soak their hookbaits in a boilie dip, or at least carry a variety of dips around with them to give their hookbaits a quick dip (glug) before casting. It depends on what takes your fancy, or at least on what you reckon will take the fish’s fancy, according to if you soak your hookbaits for a lengthy period, or just glug them for a few seconds, minutes, or an hour or two whilst fishing. The main difference being that the longer boilies are soaked the more they will retain that strong flavour. A side effect of soaking boilies for a prolonged period is that they go hard, to the point where you have to drill them to get a needle through when hair-rigging. This may or may not be a good thing, depending on where and for what you’re targeting. On those waters where nuisance fish are continually nibbling away at your boilie hookbait then a hard boilie is a good deterrent. Whichever method you use, soak or glug, you need a pot to p…p….p….put your flavoured dip in, and if you carry several dips than it certainly helps if you have them organised. This is where FISHRITE come in. They’ve manufactured this tough, padded case that holds six soak pots in three double compartments. Or you can rearrange the Velcro dividers so that it holds two to four pots and use the remaining space for something else. It comes complete with the six pots which are leakproof and sizeable. The case has a strong zip and a carrying handle.
