Fly fishers across the UK will soon be able pick up the newest and freshest fly fishing magazine to hit the market, courtesy of Northamptonshire-based DHP Ltd, publishers of six successful angling titles including Match Fishing and Total Carp.
Today’s Flyfisher, priced at only £ 2.70, will hit the shelves on May 16th 2003 and will be targeted at the beginner to intermediate level fly fisherman, plus the more experienced angler who wants to brush up on their existing skills.
The focus of the magazine will be on new methods and secrets that are catching fish today. This will be complemented by coverage on traditional material, particularly traditional fly fishing patterns and their evolution. There will be a strong emphasis on ‘live’ features and subject matter will alter on a monthly basis.
Regular contributors to the magazine will include international fly fisherman Charles Jardine and England international Simon Kidd. Editor, Andy Petherick, is a qualified game angling (STANIC) instructor and has over 15 years fly fishing experience. A former manager for Orvis, one of the game world’s top brands, Andy is extremely passionate about the sport and hopes his enthusiasm will be transferred to readers through the magazine.
“I have drawn my contributing team mainly from the retail side of fly fishing”, commented Andy. “These are the people who are ‘on the ground’ and know fly fishing intimately. By addressing the frequently-overlooked points in a simple but informative manner, Today’s Flyfisher will set the standard others follow. This is an extremely exciting time for not only myself and DHP Ltd, but also for fly fishers of all levels.”
Today’s Flyfisher will be the first fully instructional fly fishing magazine to provide easy to follow articles and step by step instruction to help readers catch more fish on any type of water they fish today.
