Lee Miller from Andover has made his first visit to the water and has caught two personal bests. Fishing Richworth Multi-Plex boilies at 60 yards over pellet Lee has caught a 27lb mirror and a 9lb tench. Only nine months into carp fishing the mirror beats his previous best by 16lbs.
Belgium Big carp catcher, Theo Pustjens has nearly finished his six day visit on the water and to add to the five carp already reported by us earlier this week he has caught another 25, these include mirrors of approximately – 26.08, 23lb, 25.04, 28.08, 24lb, 27.08, 22.08, 26.08, 29.08 28lb and a 27.08 common, all the other carp were doubles to 18.06. Theo fished on the shallows with very small boilies and groundbait mixed with particles.
HARDWICK LAKE
Steve Gomersall from North Yorkshire who is fishing Terry Hearn Source Boilies over over broken boilies and pellets at 20 yards range has caught mirrors of 32lb, 28.04, 22.08, 14.08 and 10.12. It is Steve’s first visit to the water and the 32lb mirror is a personal best for him.
Bedfords Carl Pashley has caught a linear mirror of 24.02, a mirror of 21lb and a common of 25.01. He is fishing particles over pellet and hemp at 80 yards.
Particles fished in the margins resulted in a nice 31.14 mirror which was a personal best for Mark Lewis from South Wales.
YEOMANS LAKE
Dick Hollister from Ware in Hertfordshire fished particle bait in conjunction with fish stick mix to catch a common of 30.02.
UNITY LAKE
Paul Leigh has caught a new thirty from the water. The mirror carp that weighed 30.03 was caught at 70 yards using particle hook bait over pellets.
HUNTS CORNER LAKE
Stefan Bal is creeping around the margins again – fishing with Heathrow Bait Services pineapple pop-ups he has landed a common of 29.06 and a mirror of 25.02.
OXLEASE LAKE
Fishing the margins with particles, Nick Kennedy from Slough has caught a 28lb mirror. This is the biggest carp reported since the water opened for day ticket angling earlier this year and will be listed as a new lake record.
Stephen Haywood from London who is fishing with his son Terry has caught mirrors of 21lb, 20lb, 17.04, 14.08 and 14lb. Terry has caught another mirror of 21.08. They are both fishing at 65-70 yards and using Maple 8 boilies over spodded broken boilies.
Andy Hart from Coventry fished particle hook baits with the stick rig to catch mirrors of 25.12 & 19.04.
MANOR FARM
Wolverhampton’s, Mick Prodden has caught the carp known as the ‘Random Mirror’. Mick fished at 65 yards to tempt the 30.05 fish on fish meal boilies.
Mac Berridge and John Beadows also from Wolverhampton have not missed out on the action. Mac has caught a common of 20.04, mirrors of 28.08, 23.08, 18.00 and five doubles. He is fishing at 75 yards with boilie hook baits over crushed boilies. John who is fishing at 40 yards with a pop-up over hemp has caught a 28.02 mirror.
Mark Hallin, a Fleet Contactor from Portsmouth, fished a Big Pit Products boilie, zig-rig style at 6feet to catch ‘Cut Tail’ at spot on 39lb. Holding the big mirror in his landing net he did all he could to raise his fishing companion who was in the next bivvy. Giving up on this, in desperation he rang his Portsmouth Tackle Shop who immediately rang Linears bailiff, Roy Parsons, who was on the nearby St. Johns Lake. Even the noise of Roys jeep pulling up alongside did not stir Marks friend but Roy did the honours by weighing and photographing the fish. It is a PB for Mark who was making his first visit to the water.
Having only just arrived on the water and with only one rod cast out, John Grant, from Holloway was quite surprised when his Frank Warwick Flouro pop-up was taken by the carp known as ‘The Random Mirror’The fish had taken John’s bait at 30 yards range and weighed 30.02.
Witneys, Mick Bassett fished the margins to catch a 32.08 mirror on Richworth Multi-Plex.
