Unbeatable when hooking fish at very short distance. Extremely accurate, ultra slender and unbelievably progressive, they fold as a 2 piece rod so can be transported anywhere ready to fish. Less fish will be lost at the net with the shorter length and continual action. BMAX116CP Beastmaster AX Commercial 11’6 Pellet The 11’6 is the optimum length for the majority of Commercial venues. Balancing the length of the rod to achieve distance with pinpoint accuracy but retaining better control whilst playing and landing fish. One of the slimmest rods on the market due to the grade of carbon used in the production. BMAX126CP Beastmaster AX Commercial 12’6 Pellet The 12’6″ is based on the action of the 11’6″ but will gain the extra distance that is sometimes needed. This rod will also double a freelining floater rod, the soft action allows extremely light baits to be punched out at distance in front of that bonus fish cruising through the swim. VerdictWhen you’re punching out a hefty pellet float into a big wind that’s blowing into your face the last thing you want is a wand of rod that just isn’t up to the job. I needn’t have worried, for these Beastmaster Commercial Pellet rods are, if anything, bordering on the side of being too heavy. Or at least that is the initial impression, but when you put them to good use on commercial carp that run into double figures, and fish a big waggler, you realise that the top match lads who designed them know exactly what was required. I’m just glad I’m one of the few reviewers who actually takes gear out and tries it for real before delivering a verdict. The reel fitting is attractive and distinctive, the whole of the top piece of the butt screwing down to firmly clamp on the reel seat. The short, part cork, part EVA handles are wonderful. Comfortable to hold and now I can pass the rod in front of me without having to reach out like a madman to clear my body. Many times I’ve taken a hacksaw to some of my old rods and lobbed off as much as 6″. OK, that extra length in the handle is useful if you’re trying to cast excessive distances (but how many of us do that?), but otherwise it’s just a complete waste of rod, a redundant piece of carbon and cork which is fit for nothing and just pokes out behind your elbow. These rods cast well and feel good when playing a fish. They’re a pleasure to use; a bit special, make no mistake. 10/10 PAGE 3 of the Beastmaster Commercial Rods Review by Graham Marsden |
