There are three bags in this range from Wychwood, the Giant, the Super, and the Compact. The Giant measures a very generous H15″ x L20″ x D12″, the Super H13″ x L18.5″ x D10″, and the Compact H11″ x L15″ x D8″.

Make no mistake, as we’ve come to expect from Wychwood, these are classic, versatile, quality bags made from heavy duty 1680 denier water resistant nylon with a fully waterproof lining. They have padded zip pulls, anti-slip shoulder strap and riveted feet.

Primarily aimed at the game angler they have many features that an angler of any persuasion will find useful. They have the unique ‘Twist-lock’ system whereby accessories such as a mobile phone pouch, leader pouch, fly wallet, reel pouch twist and lock into the inside of the bags. Each model comes with a number of these accessory pouches. But they can all be bought separately from £ 6.99 to £ 9.99.

Also available is a Harness at £ 24.99 that allows you to carry the twist-lock accessory pouches around your waist and down the shoulder straps. Again, roving river anglers should take a look at this item.

FISHINGmagic VERDICT

An excellent, really versatile bag that all anglers should take a look at. Strong and sturdy and, above all, very well designed.

I particularly liked the top compartment that zips open to reveal a flat, firm area that can be used as a small tray where you can keep all those bits and pieces that you need handy while you fish.

If you have all the accessories fitted into the twist-locks it takes up a lot of the main compartment, not leaving much room to access anything else. Most anglers, however, like me, will opt for two or three of the accessories rather than the lot.

A great bag, I’m going to get a lot of use out of mine.
