It’s been a while coming but it’s here at last. We all know how anglers love to discuss gear and bait. Just take a browse through the forum and you’ll see exactly what I mean. Well, now’s your chance to write a review for FISHINGmagic based on your very own experience of the tackle and bait you use – or what you will never use again, whatever the case may be.

Editors, this one included, take a lot of stick about reviews. Always have done, always will, it’s the name of the game. Because some of the gear and bait is given to us for review it’s often said the review is biased, and no matter how much we protest that the review is impartial there will always be those especially cynical readers who will have none of it.

So not only can you now disagree with the editorial review (or agree with it!), you can write your own review, rate it, and then go on to discuss it in the Tackle and Bait forum.

The whole Member Review system is linked together so that you can easily find, read the editorial review, write your own review and then discuss it on the forum. Or any one of those, as you see fit. The choice is yours.

But just think about it. What better way is there to make a judgement about tackle and bait than reading what actual users – those anglers who have shelled out hard cash – say about it, as well as editors? And then going on to discuss it on the forum where all the pros and cons can be ironed out. It could save you pounds when you have to make that decision about where your hard-earned cash is going to be spent.

But it won’t work without you. Like the whole of FM it’s about as much use as a chocolate fireguard without your input. So get that keyboard rattling and give us your opinion on any (or all!) of the tackle and bait you know something about.

Just remember that it’ll take some time for the Buyer’s Guides to come on line for each category and that not every single item of tackle and bait is listed. But we’ve thought of that as well. You can add your own tackle and bait to the list if it’s not already there.

All you have to do is read the ‘Guide to Member Reviews’, then go to the ‘Member Review’ pages and get stuck in. No more whinging about editorial reviews, now you have the opportunity to write your own!
