Alan Scotthorne fished a difficult peg on a difficult venue to win his fourth gold medal in the World Championships.

Drennan Team England, Shimano Wales, Maver Ireland and Daiwa Scotland were in the line-up to fish the world champs on the River Vah in Slovakia when Scotthorne put in a masterly performance on the pole to win his section on day one with 5.980kg. And on day 2 he netted 7.160kg to clinch the individual title in spite of breaking his pole on a big bream part way through the match.

Our teams didn’t do so well with England finishing 5th, Wales 10th, Ireland 17th and Scotland 26th.
