James Hennessey from Bristol fished M8 Boilies with pellets in PVA bags at 40 yards to catch a mirror of 14lb.
Mike Haylock also from Bristol fished the same method to catch two smaller fish to 11lb.
Danny Aplin from Didcot Oxfordshire fished particles over a general spod mix to catch two mirrors, the best 19.01.
Steve Cliff from Bedfordshire fished particle hook baits and heavily spodded with pellets at 60-70 yards to catch four mirrors to 25.06. He also dropped four others.
Ivan Thatcher, also from Bedfordshire, who was fishing using similar methods had eleven chances but only netted three mirrors, he lost a good fish at the net.
Several other anglers also experienced dropped runs or lightly hooked fish and it is believed that this is due to the cold conditions.
