The 1924 Hardy celluloid oil bottle is to be sold next Saturday, March 13 by Europe’s top sporting auctioneers, Mullock Madeley.

Says auctioneer, John Mullock: “These bottles are extremely rare. We were lucky enough to sell one of these last November, (2003) and it realised £ 1,500. This one is pretty much identical, but with a different stopper. It’s banjo shaped and has the makers stamp.”

The two day antique angling books tackle and memorabilia auction will take place at Shropshire’s Ludlow racecourse on Friday evening and Saturday, March 12 and 13. More information of the sale on 01694 771771 or visit Mullock Madeley’s website www.mullockmadeley.co.uk.
