Fishrite
Specialist tackle manufacturer and wholesaler Fishrite is the latest company to become a sponsor of the burgeoning World Carp Classic in association with Rod Hutchinson.
The Warrington-based company has taken one of the few remaining section sponsorships available and managing director David Hunt was delighted to be part of such an exciting event.
He explained: “We have admired the competition for several years, but this is the first time we have chosen to actively become a part of it. We see the event as the ideal medium to further increase awareness of our products to the specialist carp angler.
“We are a fast-growing company and our profile in the industry is continually increasing because of massive exposure in magazines and TV.
“Sadly we will not be able to fish the event, but we do hope to have a representative on site to meet and chat with all the competitors and show them some of our new innovative and exclusive products.”
Armaled
End tackle manufacturer Armaled has continued its dramatic expansion in the market by agreeing to sponsor the World Carp Classic in association with Rod Hutchinson.
The Stoke-on-Trent based company has been in existence for just 18 months – but its innovative products have created such an impact that director Tony Walker, who runs the family firm with wife Jill, feels the time is already right to expand into Europe.
The company distributes purely through retailers and Tony said: “We’re expanding rapidly and the World Carp Classic would appear to be the ideal vehicle to get our message across to retailers on the continent.”
The forward-thinking company employs six people at its 2,500sq ft warehouse in the Potteries – but that could be set to change.
Tony added: “The way things are at the moment, we need premises about three times the size of our existing base. And if we continue to expand at the same rate … who knows?”Working alongside such a young section sponsor means the competition is the senior member of the relationship.
Now moving into its sixth year, the World Carp Classic in association with Rod Hutchinson brings together carp anglers from all across the world to compete for a £ 10,000 first prize and a £ 25,000 prize table.
The 2004 World Carp Classic in association with Rod Hutchinson returns to the record-breaking Lac Amance, Foret d’Orient, in the Champagne region of France, scene of the most prolific World Carp Classic to date. In the 2001 event, the two hundred plus international field caught nearly 1 TON of carp!
The World Carp Classic in association with Rod Hutchinson is a unique 66-hour enduro event fished over three nights with four rods per pair. In addition to the fishing the event has also made a name for itself with the famous pre-match BBQ and party – and 2004 will be no different.
For the second year running the event will have an official marshalling team from Sparsholt, the specialist fishing college.
A new website at www.worldcarpclassic.com will keep competitors informed of developments.
