Another NEW thirty from Temple With temperatures on the up, Temple has produced circa 12 good fish over the last few days topped by Neil Malcolmson who led the field on Temple this weekend whilst also winding up a few of his fellow anglers by catching the much sort after linear at 31lb. Fishing peg 8, Neil, who has had fish to upper twenties from Temple previously fished a single bloodworm boilie over hemp choosing to fish one rod just short of the island close to the margin into about 5ft of water and a 2nd rod out into the deeper water close to the overflow. Friday saw Neil catch a very pretty, scale-perfect common weighing 19lb 8oz, which is most likely one of a pair stocked recently. Friday afternoon saw Neil lose a very good fish from the deep water before striking into the big linear at 8.15pm which took his far margin bait, a single bloodworm boilie fished over a bed of hemp. Giving a good fight, the linear took a good 15/20 minutes to land and fought like a demon said Neil. With tag number 188048, the fish came from the King George and was stocked into Temple on the 6th August 2004 weighing 34lb 3oz. This beautiful long lean fish had clearly been very inactive in recent weeks as it was covered in leeches, whilst most likely at its winter weight, the fish was otherwise in perfect condition as the photograph shows.
