The Norfolk Anglers Conservation Association is holding an open day at the renowned Bawburgh Lakes Fishery just outside Norwich on Sunday, June 5th between 9.30 am and 3.30 pm. Entrance will be free for the public to enjoy watching and meeting experienced anglers; fish with licensed angling coaches as well as watch many demonstrations.
There will be the opportunity to meet with special guest for the day Matt Hayes.
Demonstrations will be ongoing and include: carp fishing and tackle by the Carpology team, long distance casting by Terry Houseago, pike fishing by Pike Anglers Club, boilie making, tench fishing by Chris Turnbull, pole fishing, fly casting and tying. The Environment Agency is the main sponsor of the event and will again be bringing its fish tank.
Beginners and lapsed anglers can have some time with NFA and PAA licensed coaches who will again be set up on Seamans Lake.
Bring a picnic to this beautiful nationally recognised Wetland Habitat Conservation site, managed by Norfolk Anglers Conservation Association for CEMEX or purchase refreshments and food from the barbecue. All juniors must be accompanied by an adult.
Free entry to the event is in New Road between Bawburgh village and Bowthorpe approximately four miles west of Norwich. Signs will show you the way from either the Norfolk Showground or University Hospital turnoffs from the A47 main road bypass.
