ST JOHNS
Norwich angler Mark Riley fished single Nash Boilies on the bottom at a range of 80 yards to catch a common carp of 20.02.

Local Witney angler Martin Few who is on a tutorial with Lee Collings has caught a mirror of 16.13 and a common of 14.12 by fishing at 40 yards range with Mainline Activ Pro Pineapple boilies over Bankside Grubber Pellets and Bio Feed.

Matt May from Malvern caught two mirrors of 28.09 and 20.12 when he fished Bankside Nut Pop-ups and Pro Floaters on the surface.

Wanting to try his luck with the tench Brian Makins [Lionel] asked Linear’s bailiff Roy Parsons advice. Roy who had seen the tench fizzing earlier pointed the area out to Lional who soon caught two over 6lb and a personal best of 9.06. This was a first visit for Lionel who float fished worm in the margins.

Shortly after arriving and seeing fish cruising everywhere meant surface fishing for both Chris Kendall and Michael Hibert who are both from Uxbridge. Within an hour or so Chris had landed a 27lb mirror and Michael caught one of 19lb. We are told that no one else on the water was fishing on the surface?

Brian Hakins [Lionel] caught two 4lb + tench from the margins on float fished worm and tempted a nice fully scaled mirror of 24.03 off the surface.

Birmingham angler Steve Archer caught a personal best 31lb mirror and another of 28.12 when he fished single pro-active pineapple baits at 60 yards range.

Ian Patterson who is from St. Helens also fished pro active pineapple over pellets at a distance of 20 yards to catch two mirror carp the biggest of which weighed 25lb and is a personal best.

Mark Gateley from Derby caught mirrors of 30,04, 20lb and 19.01 when he fished maize hook baits over free offerings at 50 yards.

HARDWICK LAKE
Romsey’s Rich Kingstone caught a personal best 32.12 mirror when he fished Activ 8 Boilies over an handful of chopped boilies in the margins.

Linear’s Fishery Officer, Chris Blunt, caught an heavily plated mirror of 31.14 when he fished biscuits on the surface.

Mark Driscoll from Newbury caught a fully scaled mirror of 33.12 off the surface.

Brian Hakins moved over to Hardwick after his success on St. Johns and caught tench to 7.06 on float fished maggot and a mirror carp of 23.11 off the surface.

UNITY LAKE
Wiltshire’s Luke Branson fished particles over an heavy spod mix to catch a 32.03 common which was a personal best.

Local angler Chris Lyford caught a 28.08 mirror when he fished The Source Boilies over a spod mix at 40 yards range.

OXLEASE LAKE
Neil Major from High Wycombe caught a personal best 27.08 mirror when he fished pineapple pop-ups over a spod mix at 50 yards range. He also managed to catch a 10lb mirror off the surface.

Nigel Goodwin from Redditch also caught off the surface and his reward for fishing this method was a mirror carp of 30.03.

Blackpool angler Mick Notton caught a personal best 31.02 mirror when he fished Nash B5 Boilies over pellets at 30 yards range.

With most of the anglers fishing on the bottom and watching the carp cruising on the surface – angler Alan Bates took advantage of the situation to net 17 carp – three double figure mirrors and bigger mirrors of 29.02 and 25lb. All were caught on surface fished dog biscuits.

Leicester’s Darren Bates fished on the surface to catch carp of 27lb and 14.02.

Also from Leicester is Chris Salt who fished particles over pellets in the margins to catch four mirrors to 24.02.

Fishing the same method another Leicester angler Geoff Brooks also caught four mirrors to 23.08.

Jed Connelly from Middlesbrough fished on the surface to catch five double figure mirrors.

John Taylor from Stirling, Scotland is pleased with his catch after the long drive down. John caught seven mirror carp to 23lb by fishing zig rigs. His friend, Grant Dalglish from Edinburgh caught five doubles, also on the zig rig.

John Nutland from Stockport fished particle hook baits with bags in the margins to catch five double figure mirrors. With him and also from Stockport is Rick Ellis who has caught nine mirrors. Six of these were caught by surface fishing and three by fishing particles and bags at 25yards. The biggest of the nine weighed 24.03.

Father and son team Carl and Mark Worthington caught six double figure mirrors and two larger specimens of 25.02 and 30.02 when they fished home made plum boilies over hemp at 30 yards range.
