A 72-year-old angler is in a critical condition after he was crushed by his own car as he tried to stop it from rolling into a lake in Warwickshire.
The man, from Keresley in Coventry, was with friends at Draycote Water, at Kytes Hardwick near Rugby, when the accident happened on Tuesday morning.
Police said he broke an arm and a leg, as well as suffering crushed ribs, when he became trapped under a Peugeot 307.
The man was airlifted to the Walsgrave Hospital where he is on a ventilator.
The victim’s friends were unhurt.
