Colin Bunn has been catching catfish on the Spanish River Ebro system for more than 16 years. His own personal catches have accounted for going on 200 catfish over 100lb, with a personal best over 200lb. His knowledge of the river, wildlife and surrounding areas are extensive, having fished during every month of the year and in all sorts of adverse weather conditions from extreme heat to almost freezing and during floods.
Colin caught two Catfish last week that weighed more than 200lb apiece. It is believed that Colin is now the only angler to have caught two Catfish over 200lb. The enormous cats weighed 201lb and 212lb.
As if that wasn’t enough Colin also caught, in the same week, and on the same day as he caught the 212lb fish. an albino catfish that pulled the scales to 151lb. In November Colin and a mate took 43 cats to over 100lb in two weeks fishing, a time when many anglers believe that catfish are too difficult to catch due to the colder temperatures.
