Croix Blanche complex record broken with a 72lb mirror!A & J’s Croix Blanche complex in France has started the season just as it closed last year – with a massive 70lb+ mirror!Dave Cox had a 71lb 2oz fish in November 2005 – this time it was the turn of A & J regular Dave Storey who has broke the complex record with a fish known as the Hippo at 72lb. Dave took the fish from the Tortue Lake at 3pm in glorious sunshine on Wednesday, May 10th. The last time this fish came to the net was in September 2005 when it tipped the scales at 67.12lbs … the captor?… Dave Storey again! Well done mate and a bottle of champers for you! So nearly a 70 … huge 69lb 8oz Mirror from Laroussi! On Thursday 27th April at 11pm Paul Goodman landed this huge mirror at just under 70lb from the Angling Lines Laroussi lake in France. At exactly 69lb 8oz, Paul broke the previous lake record from last October of 65lb. Paul was a very happy chappy…he broke his PB 3 times – 34lb 8oz, 42lb 8oz and 69lb 8oz. He also had his PB Sturgeon at 62lb! Successful method was a pop-up over a big bed of boilies, partiblend, pellets and groundbait. The lake owner Mehdi informs us there are two other known fish that have always come out bigger than this one – so we can probably expect one or two 70’s any day now. Paul’s catches were followed up a week later by a 58lb 4oz, 57lb 12oz and 3 x forties to the next group of anglers on Laroussi… whilst the anglers on Mehdi’s other lake, Old Oaks, also experienced fast and furious action with a 46 fish haul to 5 anglers including 8 x 30’s and 31 x 20’s.
