Having caught six carp of over 25kg and two over 30 kg he is considered to be the most successful carp fisherman in the Dutch language area – he is also the only person in the world to have caught fish over 60lb (27kg+) in three different countries. As well as being chief editor of VBK-magazine (a well-known Belgian carp fishing magazine), Alijn is a freelance writer. His publications have appeared in carp fishing magazines in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, UK, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria and Italy. Thus a familiar face to many European anglers.
