The FishingMagic Species Hunt for National Fishing Week
Fishingmagic are promoting a Nationwide Species Hunt to take place during National Fishing Week, from the 19th – 28th August 2006.
The aim is to try and catch as many species as possible whilst at the same time raising money for a superb cause The EDP Breast Cancer Appeal
Prizes donated so far include:
- £ 200.00 to the winning team, to be divided equally amongst team members
- A Fox 12ft, 1.75lb TC XS Barbel Rod, for the individual with the highest number of points
- A bottle of champagne each for the captor of the biggest gudgeon and also for the smallest carp!
- A Fishrite unhooking mat, for the fish caught that is the biggest proportion by weight of any current national (BRFC) record.
- A waggler rod for the biggest fish caught by an under 16 year old
- A Fox tackle box for the largest Rudd
- More prizes still being donated at the time of writing!
Entry fee: £ 5 per person.
All monies to go to The EDP Breast Cancer Appeal.
Although a team event you will enter as an individual and compete as an individual. The team you will be allocated to will be via a ‘live’ draw in the days leading up to the event.
How and where teams fish will be decided by each team. Travelling to fish as a team is optional and up to each individual.
Basic rules
- 1 point per individual species caught per team/individual, plus 1 bonus point for the biggest specimen of each species caught throughout the week.
- The winning team/individual is the one with most points.
- In the event of a points tie, the team/individual with the most species caught is the winner.
- If there is still a tie then the fish that is the best specimen, ie, has the biggest proportion by weight of current national (BRFC) record will decide the overall winner!
- All competitors must be registered members of FishingMagic.com. Membership of FishingMagic is totally free – full details.
- All fish to be photographed showing evidence that they were caught within the above dates. Acceptable evidence is to print off the Fishingmagic certificate of entry and ensure this is visible on any photo, or display some reference to the fishing race on the photo or a newspaper from that week, etc.
