Asda Hand Gel | |

OverviewA TIMELY REMINDER about the dreaded Weil’s disease. This being the vile (that how you pronounce it as well) disease you can catch from water in which rats’ urine is present. There is no specific time of year when you’re more likely to catch it than others so it’s as well to be protected all year round. In the past, I have recommended a product called Magic Hand Cleaner which many people found difficulty in obtaining although I found no problem acquiring it from my local Asda store. It was on such a visit looking for some more Magic that I found that Asda are now doing their own brand of gel hand cleaner. Now you have no excuse for NOT carrying some around with you. All it takes is a small blob on your hands after they have been in contact with the water and before you handle food or put them near your mouth. There are two varieties of Asda’s own brand, original (blue) and with moisturisers (clear), the latter smelling a little more feminine, if I may say so. Perhaps the blue would be the one most anglers would go for and it smells quite respectable for blokes. Whichever you choose, the small 50ml bottles pack nicely into your angling kit and you can buy the larger economy version to top up the smaller bottles. Very useful also for if you cut yourself particularly on a pike’s gill rakers or a knife or scissors.
