Offering the complete rig making and storage facilities the rig and tackle case has twin zipped compartments.
verdict
I’m not sure that there is the ‘perfect’ rig and tackle case. I have got quite a few rig boards of varying lengths in zippered cases, but most rigs I make up are 9 inches or less and the rig board in this outfit just does me nicely.
The box provided, on the other hand, is a different matter. It’s a standard stock item that is made in some little Chinese factory and made available to many sources, but they should supply boxes and dividers that take spools of the most popular rig materials on the market. I didn’t find the one provided fitted any of my bits and pieces at all and could hardly be adjusted.
Homebase box
However, a search around Homebase and I came back with this little box pictured and exactly the same size, which although still not perfect, is a lot closer to my requirements as you can see. I still haven’t got everything organised in there and I do have a Fox medium box as well for all the other stuff. After all, this case is just for making up rigs and not for everything you carry, even scissors I keep in my Fox box although they could be stored under elastics in this case’s lid.p>The PVC rig wallets are handy for packets of hooks and longer made-up fluorocarbon hooklinks.
All-in-all, it’s not that different to many rig and tackle bags available, there’ll always be something lacking in them because you can’t please everyone, especially me. On the positive side, I quite like it and the quality of stitching is good, but a little more thought is needed into what’s going inside the plastic box.
