Held on Saturday 10th October at Whinney Loch, Coldingham, the Fly Fishing event saw 13 year olds, Ellen Peyton and Polly Smith and 14 year-old, Rosie Beveridge –Pearson join the Club for the event. They were also joined by 21 year-old, Philippa Snaith who attended the event with her mother, Pearl on her second Club outing.
Ellen and Philippa both did extremely well with Ellen catching two beautiful Trout and Philippa landing a beautiful 4 1/2lb rainbow, caught on her first ever fishing trip.
Founder and Chairman of the Fishing For Everyone Ladies Fishing Club, Lucy Bowden said;
“The FFE Ladies Fishing Club has had a fantastic fishing season and we would like to thank all of those venues that we have visited including Sweethope Lough, Chatton Trout Fishery, Whinney Loch, Witton Castle Lakes and Higham Lakes.
“I would also like to personally thank the ladies themselves for all of their help and support for without them, the Club would not be running. I am very excited about the coming year ahead and feel that we have a great Committee that will lead the Club onto bigger and better things in the coming years.”
The Fishing For Everyone Ladies Fishing Club are due to end 2009 with a BBC News report on their success next week and they will be holding an end of season dinner at Blackmores of Alnwick on Saturday November 21st.
