Horsey’s Thirty-Plus
The Greys Prowla rods have caused a stir on a recent fishing trip by Greys Consultant, John Horsey and Category Product Manager, Andy Charlton.
Two days fishing for Pike during the Trials at Chew Valley on the 28th and 29th October saw the two anglers land 21 fish between them, including a 33lb 8oz Pike.
Fishing lures using Greys Prowla Jerk Bait rods, and dead baits using Prowla Bait & Boat rods, John’s big fish fell to a smelt mounted on a Prowla size 6 Supa Snap Tackle, float legered under a Prowla Bait Slider and Quick Change In-line Sinker.
The fish initially dropped the bait after running a few yards with it, but then picked it up again after John carefully gave it a couple of twitches. It was landed on a Prowla 10’6” 3lb TC Boat rod and was netted by John’s boat partner, Andy Charlton.
Andy said “John and I landed fish steadily over the first afternoon after switching to dead baits following a morning of fishing lures. When the big girl was first hooked we both thought it to be a lower double until it’s back broke the surface and all hell broke loose! There were a couple of hairy moments at the boat but we eventually slipped the net under her. What an amazing fish and a superb 2 days Pike fishing.”
Over £6000 Raised at Fish with the Stars
Over £6,000 was raised at the ‘Fish with the Stars’ Celebrity Charity event organised by Hardy & Greys Ltd and Game Fishing Supplies of Morpeth.
