Mainoaks cottages sit nestled in the shadow of Symonds Yat rock. A 15th century farmstead set in 80-acres of wild pastureland at the mouth of a beautiful gorge beside the River Wye.

There are six holiday cottages each with their own individual charm and character sleeping between 2-7 people.

The cottages offer guests salmon & coarse fishing, while nearby canoeing, bicycle tracks and other outdoor activities make this a perfect location for both family and romantic breaks.

window_454700849.jpgThe holiday cottages are situated on one of the most picturesque stretches of the river Wye, and as part of your stay, there are complimentary passes to fish along this beautiful stretch of the river. Initially famous for its salmon, in recent years the river Wye has become increasingly popular for coarse fishing.

Their beat starts about 1½ miles upstream of Mainoaks Farm Cottages but on the other side of the river. So it can either be reached via a walk over Huntsham bridge and then along the riverside footpath, or via a 5-min drive, with private parking adjacent to the river bank. Full directions are provided in your guest welcome pack.

Fish including salmon, trout, pike of over 30lbs along with barbel, dace, roach, eels and perch, all combine to make for excellent sport.

Would you like to win 2 nights including 2 days fishing at Mainoaks cottages this summer?

We’ve also got our hands on a complete Hardy Uniqua #4 outfit as part of the prize courtesy of our friends at Hardy & Greys.
