EDDY WIDDUP

Writing competition winner, Eddy Widdup

The judges were impressed with a number of aspects of Eddy’s contributions to the site; notably the fact that from a first rather tentative submission in ‘Angling’s Life Lessons’ the style and substance of Eddy’s writing developed and grew in confidence. We would say he ‘blossomed’ but that would only embarrass him…

The judges were also taken by the variety of contributions from the very personal and somewhat soul-searching of ‘Where do you go from there?’  to the detailed analysis of a session in ‘Trotting for Big Chub’  From the humorous, somewhat tongue in cheek look at Internet angling in ‘The Modern Angler’  and ‘Trustworthy Liars’ to the instructional, observational and informative ‘Specimen Bream’ and ‘Crafty Ideas on Watercraft’

A highly accomplished big fish angler Eddy, via this competition, has also proved himself to be an accomplished writer; we just hope now there are no prizes up for grabs he will continue to entertain us from time to time.

Our sincere thanks to everyone who participated, all of you provided entertainment and instruction of the highest calibre and, as with Eddy, we do hope to be seeing more of all of you in the future!
