Many experienced the event live and watched young Mr Power take his ceremonial dunking before picking up his cheque for £50k in front of crowds of noisy well-wishers and the clicking cameras of the press. Some of you will have seen the match highlights on Sky Sports, heard the interviews on BBC local radio stations or read about Andy’s success in the angling tabloids.
You are now invited to come along this year and watch angling’s biggest names battle it out on the Match Lake at Maver Larford and witness an angler’s life change forever when another cheque of at least £50k is handed over. Families and children are encouraged to come along and watch too as facilities such as food, drink and toilets are all available at the event.
TV’s ‘Wizard of Odds’ and Sky Sports bookie Gary Wiltshire will be in attendance again for this year’s event, offering both participating anglers and members of the public the opportunity to back their favourite anglers and perhaps win some money in the process. Anglers who would like to learn new tips and techniques can do so from the Maver team of professional anglers available on the day.
There will also be a huge marquee housing a comprehensive range of match fishing tackle and accessories showcasing fabulous new products from Maver to include the new Team Maver luggage, the Match This pole range, the critically acclaimed Elite Carp pole and the new margin poles and long poles, including the Satanic X Carp and Respect.
Make a date in your diary for Saturday 01 September for the Grand Final but don’t forget Sunday 02 September for the competition’s first ever Home Nations Team Championship – where angling’s most elite teams , including the England Feeder Team; the Scottish National Team; the Irish Select Team and the Welsh Wizards, will go head-to-head with match teams which will include the likes of Ultimate Barnsley Blacks, Daiwa Dorking, Shakespeare Super Team, and Mark Downes’ Kamasan Starlets to name just a few – not to mention Maver’s own Maver Image, Maver Midlands and Maver Bait-Tech. In its own right, an exciting day, as teams will compete across both the Match and Specimen lakes for an impressive team trophy and £3,000.
All this entertainment and no charge for entry!
