The EA report that:
The fishing project is based at Grove Farm, which is part of Hadlow College, a specialist land-based college in Kent. Community groups and charity organisations across the south east who work with young people or disadvantaged communities are being offered the chance to take advantage of the facilities available with free fishing days providing recreational facilities for the people they work with.
The Environment Agency are working with Hadlow College to compile approved users who will be able to book the fishery for free use by their organisation, and Grove Farm will hold a small amount of fishing tackle which will be made available to members on the list.
Ben Lord, Technical Officer at the Environment Agency, said:
“The project with Hadlow College is a great example of how the rod licence benefits anglers, I hope that the facilities are made available to a large number of new anglers as a result, the venue is also a great teaching facility for new angling coaches and fishery management.”
Brian Bailey, Grove Farm Fishery manager, said:
“Hadlow College is committed to increasing accessibility to enable the local community to participate in angling while also affording opportunity to improve fisheries management knowledge within the South-East.”
