The Angling Trust, in partnership with the Environment Agency, National Wildlife Crime Unit and Institute of Fisheries Management, is running the following Fisheries Enforcement Workshops:

• 0900 – 1700, Saturday 03 May 2014: Venue 24 at Sedgemoor Auction Centre, Market Way, North Petherton, Bridgwater, Somerset TA6 6DF

• 0900 – 1700, Saturday 31 May 2014: EA Central Area Office, Bronholme Lane, Brampton, Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire PE28 4NE

These are one day courses for Angling Trust and Institute Of Fisheries Management member angling clubs and anyone interested in learning the fundamental issues and principles of successful bailiffing – a subject equally relevant to fishery owners and managers as well as their bailiffs.

Dilip Sarkar, Fisheries Enforcement Manager for the Angling Trust said:

“Our Fisheries Enforcement Workshops are part of the Angling Trust’s strategy to educate anglers about how fisheries enforcement works and the importance of the intelligence-led system. How all of this fits into the bigger picture of the fight against Rural Crime will be provided by the National Wildlife Crime Unit”

Sessions will be delivered on:

• Angling law

• The role of the club bailiff

• Conflict resolution

• Intelligence-led fisheries enforcement

• Health and safety

• Practical demonstration on illegal fishing methods

The course will be delivered by experienced enforcement and fishery practitioners.
