I finally managed to break my duck in 2000 at the Bream Pit near Ipswich this week, following several sessions last year when I struggled to get one. That was in spite of catching several good carp while waiting for a bite off the bream.
The day turned into a nice warm afternoon, overcast with a slight wind, I thought to myself that this would get something feeding and up until about 6pm I had a lot of liners and twitch bites that boosted my confidence.
The bream weighed 8 lb 4 oz and what a beauty it was. It took a boilie fished with a Method Feeder, using my Method Mix groundbait from Mr Wriggles ( www.mr-wriggles.supanet.com).
Unfortunately, about an hour after this fish the cloud cover broke and thetemperature dropped like a stone and put an end to anything else. But I wastreated to a glorious spring sunrise – so who cares!
