Helped by the Agency’s qualified fisheries staff at Little Canford Ponds, Wimborne, children between the ages of 8-16 years will learn how to fish safely and responsibly and use their fishing equipment correctly.
“These sessions are specially to encourage youngsters who want to learn to fish or improve their technique,” said Emma Rothero for the Environment Agency.
“It is a great opportunity to find out more about safe, responsible fishing in a fun way.”
The Agency-owned Little Canford Ponds is a coarse fishery specifically designed to encourage young and disabled anglers with numerous fishing platforms. There is also a pond dipping platform.
A rod licence is not necessary for children taking part in the sessions although they will need to bring their own rod and line, and under 12s must be accompanied by an adult.
Fishing For Fun is being held on Tuesday, August 8 and Thursday, August 10 with sessions at 10 am to 12 noon and 2 pm to 4 pm.
