At last winter has decided to throw a tantrum and shake off the complacency that had nestled around us. Like a petulant child throwing its toys around, winter is flexing its mettle and letting me know in no uncertain terms that it has most certainly not forgotten us. Small twigs that had danced across the yard, like Highland dancers to the unseen pipers tune were replaced by the crashing branches falling to the thunderous roll of the drum and a call to arms for nature’s sentinels to flex their muscles.
