The fish known as the Denge Mirror was taken by Ian Vallentine at a new top weight of 31lb 2oz, and is the new record for Kingsmead One Lake. 
Ian was stalking around the Crayfish Pool before making his way onto Lake One and took the big fish off the surface on a Chum Mixer. The Denge Mirror is the second of the stock fish to top 30lb and follows on from the capture of the Park Common by Sam Boland at 30lb 12oz.
There are thought to be a couple of Kingsmead originals in Lake One at weights to better that of the Denge Mirror but these fish have proved remarkably difficult to catch over the past couple of years. These original carp are seen reasonably regularly and one, a big mirror, was lost at the net by one of the bailiffs last season.
