The most eye-catching detail on this new dome from Fox is that the ribs are on the outside. Which is unlike most other domes where the ribs are passed through the inner skin and then covered with the outer. You erect the outer dome and then actually hang the inner dome from a number of strategically placed loop and toggle and buckle fastenings.

This Supa Euro Dome is so-called because it’s big, really big, making it ideal for the long-stay angler, and particularly so when fishing abroad in swims big enough to take it. It looks enormous from the outside but much of that space is taken up on the inside with the gap between the two skins. And that is not a criticism, for that gap is essential to maintain the thermal properties of the bivvy. At the same time I’ve used this Fox dome and the inner has remained almost condensation-free, other, cheaper domes have been ringing wet on the inside.

Which doesn’t mean the living area is small. Far from it, the design is such that the walls are almost vertical, giving you much more room that in domes that, at first glance, appear to be bigger.
