Carp, tench and roach at Brookside Fishery are getting a break from pressure match angling as the lakes are rotated and on Saturday it was the turn of Linear and Willow pools to host a 36-peg event.

Top scorer was John Carroll (Daiwa Wigan) who used deep water inshore to catch a mix of carp, roach and tench on a five metre long pole with both caster and maggot on the hook.

And it was back to business at Copthorne Lakes Fishery near Preston where Keith Judson (Ted Carter Preston) tackled the cold water in the Figure of Eight Pool with pellet over loose fed pellet for a 31-12-0 catch.

A new batch of carp averaging eight ounces were released during the week and most of them seemed to be in Keith’s peg as he attacked them with a four metre pole kit.
