Bob Hornegold netted a terrific haul of four barbel from the old river Lea at Fishers Green with some superb fish weighing 8lb, 9lb 1oz, 9lb 4oz and a big double of 11lb 2oz.

Bob hair-rigged a lump of flavoured meat on a size 8 ESP Raptor hook to tempt all of the fish.

Despite a return to overnight frosts the barbel were still feeding last weekend and several fish to just under 10lb were taken from a river which is still running very high and coloured.
