UPDATE
The new record carp contender is now confirmed as correct. The scales, however, are suspect, and it looks like the fish will weigh 7oz MORE than first thought, making it 59lb 9oz.
From Last week
FISHINGmagic is reliably informed that the British carp record has been broken with a 59lb 2oz fish.
The fish, known as Two-tone, was caught by Terry Glebioska from Conningbrook using artificial sweetcorn fished over a bed of genuine sweetcorn.
This true-Brit fish was stocked by the then Kent River Board in the 1960’s. It is understood that the 60lb 12oz carp reported in Angler’s Mail last week from a water known as Etang de Bushbury is an illegal import.
More details as we get them.
