Over 70 people turned up at the Green Dragon public house in Kimberworth – Rotherham last night to be entertained by the Don Valley Specialist Group (DVSG) in all aspects of fishing, from the capture of huge sturgeon in British Columbia to silver bream from a small pond. Yours truly had the honour of opening the proceedings with a short speech on the foundations of the specimen group. Then it was over to the rest of the group members to make commentary on the slides as they appeared. Although this might sound biased, I am very impressed with the all round angling ability of the members of the DVSG. From hauling out huge sturgeon to fishing delicately with pole, stickfloat and flyrod, the skills are all there. Over £ 300 was collected for the Children of Chernobyl fund. |
