Here they are, the pictures of Eric Edward’s incredible brace of pike caught within an hour of each other – we reported the catch last week within two hours of the last fish being caught.
Specialist angler Eric Edwards from Thatto Heath, St Helens caught the fish on a green rubber worm jig twitched along the bottom. Eric was fishing with boat partner Gary Knowles on 900 acre Staffordshire’s Blithfield Reservoir.

The pike, weighing 37lb 8oz and 41lb 8oz, is the biggest brace recorded from a British water.
Gary said, “The amazing thing is that these Blithfield pike are not the usual gut buckets associated with trout waters. They are really broad with large heads – superbly proportioned fish.”
