Hardy and Greys are pleased to announce that Andy Mill, the most successful Tarpon Tournament angler in the world, is joining their North American organisation. Andy will be taking the lead role in the development of the Company’s saltwater range of rods and reels and will be working closely with Howard Croston, head of fly fishing product development.
Andy will take the lead on pre production design, field testing and product launch of Hardy & Greys new saltwater fly fishing equipment.
Andy said:
“It’s an honour and a privilege to be working with Hardy which I’ve always considered to be the ‘Rolex’ of fresh water fishing products. It’s my personal goal to help bring this same image to the saltwater fishing.”
Jim Murphy, President of Hardy & Greys, North America said:
“We are excited to have Andy on board. This is not a run of the mill endorsement deal – Andy will be a full member of our team and will work closely with Howard Croston and Charlie Norris on all development projects.
We believe that Andy’s very successful techniques of catching and fighting fish are unique, and will result in a truly innovative line of fly rods and reels. We are committed to taking a lead position in salt water and Andy is the guy to lead our efforts.”
Andy will also serve as a spokesman for Hardy & Greys North America. His first appearance for Hardy & Greys will be at the Fly Tackle Retailer Show in Denver on September 10th -12th where Hardy & Greys will have their full contingent of products and personnel. We also aim to bring Andy to Europe in the spring of 2010 for a series of events which will coincide with the launch of his new Saltwater Fly Fishing Book – ‘A Passion for Tarpon’. This book will share with anglers some of Andy’s highly innovative techniques and has taken almost 5 years to produce.
