“Congratulations on an amazing effort and a fabulous result for the Society. All our thanks and appreciation should go first to Barry for his outstanding effort and patience in organising the whole event. When I suggested it to him he made an immediate and unreserved commitment to it. Well done Barry!

“Of course we must thank also those who made such generous donations to the affair, and I will write personally on behalf of the Society to all the contributors. Finally, the BS members who supported the auction have shown the quality of the people that make up the Society; my heartfelt thanks to you all and rest assured we will ensure that the cash is well spent on behalf of you and the barbel!”

“This is undoubtedly the most important step that the Society has taken since its formation. We will now be able to help out with conservation projects all over the country. This will be an ongoing drive, and our commitment to the cause of conservation in regard to barbel and their habitat is total and we hope that many more anglers will join the Society and help add their weight to a very important cause.”
