I don’t know how many of you are members of the Barbel Society but those who are will have received the summer edition of their excellent magazine, edited by our own Fred Bonney.

I don’t normally have much to say about club and society magazines due to them not being widely available, but I’ll make an exception this time as Fred is a loyal supporter of FishingMagic and as an editor myself I realise just how much work he has put into the magazine. Fred will also be the first to admit that he’s not a paid, experienced editor, which makes it all the more commendable that he helps to put together a fine product that the members must surely appreciate.

This issue also has an article by regular FishingMagic writer Kevin Perkins (The Alternative Angler, The Adventures of Donald and Damien, etc). It’s aptly titled as ‘I’m Not a Barbel Angler’.

BarbelFisher is not just a magazine of news about the society, it’s a full blown magazine stuffed with articles about barbel, covering a variety of techniques on rivers throughout the country. It’s a damn good read and a credit to all those who contribute and put it together.
