Warren ‘Wol’ Gaunt fished a carp syndicate water for the first time last week and took two huge bream weighing 15lb 10oz and a male fish of 13lb 4oz. Let Wol take up the story…….. “I’ve always loved my bream fishing and when the chance came up for a go on what is predominately a carp syndicate water where the lads had kept huffin ‘n puffin about ‘bloody big snotties’, I kindly accepted the offer. “Within a couple of days (25th May 2005) I was on the water looking forward to what the following two nights had in store for me. “After a fair amount of looking for holes in this rich weedy water I found four small individual spots which I baited with pellet and crumbled boilies. “This would be the first time for me using boilies for bream but it seemed to make sense with it being fished mainly by carp anglers. I still couldn’t help myself though and did set one rod up with a popped up corn stack. “I used small shellfish flavoured 10mm boilies onto which I drizzled over some Scopex. And to be a bit different I used a blade to randomly cut the boilie. “The first night produced a nice male of 13lb 4oz at 1.30am and the second night at 11.30pm I was pleased as punch to have in the net a fish of 15lb 10oz. “First trip to the water and two cracking fish, I cant wait to go back.” |
