Liverpool angler Eddie Bibby fished Allostock, Cheshire’s Boundary Water Park for a short evening session and had a good catch of bream in the 4lb to 6lb bracket.
Eddie, 57, fished a light carp rod, 8lb main line, 6lb fluorocarbon hooklength and a brace of hair-rigged 10mm boilies in the 40yd distant swim. He used method feeder tactics and also fed the swim with a carpet of groundbait from a catapult.
Eddie said, ‘ I must have fished for two to three hours before I got the first bite, a real screamer that took line off the Baitrunner. I thought it was a carp it went off so fast. I couldn’t believe it when I netted a bream a little over 3lb.’
‘Bites came steadily after that but dried up about 10pm, but by then I’d had quite a few to about 5 or 6lb. I’ve heard there are bigger bream in the water and I’ll have one before too long. Watch this space!’
