There seems to be a distinct possibility that British Waterways will take over Billy Makin’s Preston Innovations Fisheries.
The rumour that BW was interested in the Makin Fisheries has been an open secret for some time, but this week FISHINGmagic contacted BW about the rumour and British Waterways spokesman Keith Fisher said, “I can confirm that BW has had some discussions with Mr Makin but it is far too early to say whether or not this will result in a deal.”
Preston Innovations Makin Fisheries is situated at Wolvey on the Warwickshire/Leicestershire border. The complex has 18 pools and is well known for its stock of barbel, a controversial issue amongst many barbel anglers who believe that barbel should not be stocked into stillwaters.
