Nash Peg One sponsored angler Ted Bryan is certainly making the most of the big autumn feed-up and has been banking carp like they are going out of fashion! On his first session on a new lake Ted caught this stunning carp, backed up with a smaller specimen.
Here is Ted’s story:
“On a three day session on a new lake that I have never fished before, I had this stunning looking mirror at 29lb 6oz.
I arrived at the venue and picked a swim towards the top end of the lake. I got set up and put my rods out but after a blank night I decided to move, so I packed up and moved to the other end of the lake. I ended up moving again after seeing fish show at the other end of the lake.
Now, this is a 30 acre lake so by the time I got to the third swim I was knackered! I ended up just putting out single hook baits and had a cup of tea before getting properly set up.
I put all 3 rods about 60 yards out and baited them with a kilo of I.C.1 and Scopex Squid 15ml boilies. It didn’t take long for me to have a take on my left hand rod and after a good battle I had the 29lb 6oz mirror. That night I also had an 18lb Mirror, so all in all I had a good session.
The tackle I used was three, 3lb test curve rods, Entoh 5000 reels loaded with 15lb Nash bullet line, 3oz Nash in-line leads, Nash bullet hook links, size 8 Nash Fang ‘X’ hooks baited with 15ml I.C.1 bottom baits.”
