And their dreams have come true thanks to a little help from Calor, the UK’s leading supplier of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), which helped them to heat the accommodation as it does not have access to mains gas. Many customers have commented that the cottages are now much cosier thanks to Calor.

The couple made the life-changing decision to buy Llyn Y Gors Fishery on the beautiful Isle of Anglesey in North Wales – abandoning their high-flying careers and selling a five-bedroomed house in Essex to pursue their dreams.

And they haven’t looked back since. After they brought Llyn Y Gors last year, the couple and their two teenage sons have worked around the clock to ensure the facilties for their guests are second-to-none.

All of the accommodation is heated using Calor because the site does not have access to mains gas. Now the fishery is attracting more visitors than ever – and the Coe family are now busy renovating the cottage which they live in.

The fishery is set in 16 acres of beautiful countryside and boasts five fishing lakes – with accommodation including four cottages and a caravan and campsite.Fishing enthusiasts from all over the country flock to Llyn Y Gors – which has built up a reputation for being one of the finest fisheries in the UK.

All four holiday cottages are heated on Calor and the on-site fishing shop is also heated on Calor.

Kevin and Karen have increased the amount of fish in each of the lakes – Carp weighing over 35Ib and Catfish weighing up to 30Ib can be caught in the lakes.

When they moved to the fishery Kevin encountered the first problem when he realized the site was off the mains gas supply. “The previous owners had been heating the cottages on gas cylinders but we immediately found that this wasn’t suitable for the site because we constantly needed new deliveries and there was a danger that we would run out of gas and ultimately lose our customers’ business.

“So we contacted Calor and the local sales rep came to visit us and gave us some very good advice. His expertise was crucial to ensuring the business became a success. It made sense for us to have a Calor tank installed at the fishery – to save us both time and money and it has worked brilliantly for us.

“The cottages where the guests stay are now much warmer thanks to Calor – and it helps ensure that our visitors enjoy their stay so much that they want to return,” adds Kevin.

The static caravans are also heated on Calor cylinders – which can be purchased from the shop on site. The couple have finished renovating the cottages and now they are in the process of improving their living quarters.

Karen adds: “We saw Llyn Y Gors advertised for sale on the Internet and we knew straight away that we had to go for it and try and follow our hearts.

“We had never even been to Anglesey before. Kevin used to be away for weeks on end with his old job as an IT director so we never used to see him.

“Now we work together as a family – all of us help out. We are getting to know the regulars and we are attracting new business all the time. It was hard in the beginning but with the expertise of the Calor sales rep – we soon got the cottages sorted. This is a dream come true for us,” she adds.
