CLK Fishing Baits Say
Around three years ago I started playing around with floating ingredients in my pva bag mix’s, the idea was to settle the PVA bag slowly on the waters bottom, during this time I played around with lots of food, animal feed and fishing bait items.

Most of the floating products I tried took on water then went all mushy, about 20 months ago I came across a product that stayed afloat a lot longer than the rest and by adding some of carp anglings favourite bait products I formed a pukka bag mix that the carp adored I used this with all manor of boilies and particles with great success.

The bag mix in dry powdered form would stay afloat for up to 20 minutes but that was to long so I added more carp goodies to the mix to reduce the buoyancy time.

FISHINGmagic VERDICT

First seen at the 5 Lakes Carp Show, I was drawn to the fact that a PVA bag full of what seemed like groundbait mix, was floating.

At first, and maybe rather naively, I thought that they had developed some kind of super strong pop-up boilie, capable of holding up a big PVA bag full of food.

However, the more I stood and watched the demo, (given by Chris Berry – the guy with the idea), the more it became clear that this was in fact not a super pop-up, but an ingenious bag mix that floats to begin with, but then begins to sink and drop over the terminal tackle and completely covers your rig, leaving only the brightly coloured (non-super!) pop-up above a big pile of food.

That’s when it dawned on me. I should review that!

Review that I did and I have to say, I was very very pleased with the results. The CLK bag mix allowed me to conceal my rig almost entirely, giving the fish confidence in that they are not exposed to the delights of a big fat lead and your hooklink. Aptly named ‘Vanish’, because, well……..it makes your rig and terminal tackle, vanish. Simple really.

One use I thought of straight away, was fishing over weed, where you don’t want the rig or the food to fall through into the dark depths, never to be found by even the bravest of fish. Being partially buoyant, and therefore lightweight, the bag and mix, plus your rig, would sit nicely on top of the weed, leaving you confident that your hookbait can be found, along with the added attraction of being surrounded by a mass of food stuff.

Although I have not tried this for long, I will be sure to give it a lot more fishing time and make further judgements as and when necessary.

For the price for a 1Kg bag though, you can’t go wrong, and I reckon you will be impressed.

One tip though, don’t add any water to the mix, just a drop of oil (flavoured, not Castrol GTX!).
